Highlands called David Baer to serve as pastor beginning in January 2006. David received his Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School in 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, where he studied computer science.

David's hope for Highlands is that it will continue to rediscover its call to be a faith-forming, caring exhibition of God's Reign to the Allendale area and the world. He believes that, as God drew near to us in Christ, we are called to draw near others to receive and to share God's grace.

David lives with his wife, Amy, their daughter, Johanna, and their Jack Russell terrier, Scout.
